    Spill water Review by

Lasted less than 6 months, even though it is a little slow, I was happy with it, until it started to spill half of the water I poured. I usually make 6 cups, 3 of the clean water I poured is on the counter. I bought this expensive coffee maker with big expectations, specially because of the brand. What a disappointment.

this coffee maker was the best ever!! at first. Review by

this coffee maker was the bomb for the first month. since that apparently the 'clean' sensor has taken over and it constantly boils the coffee to death. i've tried everything and nothing works. dont have receipt so i'm out almost 200 dollars. ps only had it 3 months - never even touched the clean indicator.

Coffee worth waiting for... Review by

THis coffee maker is too expensive; but, it produces great coffee and looks great. Though it was tough to save up for, I am satisfied with the results.

    Exactly as portrayed Review by

Is everything its be written up to be. Takes a little longer to make the pot of coffee but well worth the wait

Just OK, actually a little disappointed Review by

The unit worked OK, just OK when I first bought it, but all of a sudden it won't shut off. It keeps vacuuming the water up into the upper unit and won't stop. Also it makes a squealing sound every once in a while. The coffee is bitter because of the constant boiling and vacuuming. It is not easy to clean. Very disappointed. I would prefer to try the drip coffeemaker. The coffee cools quickly after brewing.

It does make reliably excellent coffee. Clean design, easy to use and clean.

My second KitchenAid coffee maker Review by

Since the month of January 2017 I had bought this coffee maker once and it had manufacturing problem. It didn't hold the water in the tank. After having filled the water tank over a couple hours it would drip into the carafe on its own without turning on. I brought it back and got another one, and this second one from time to time does not turn on on its scheduled timer. It also doesn't stop dripping when it's on the steeping mode like my last one, it just continues to keep dripping the coffee. I certainly expected more coming from a KitchenAid brand... all there other equipment are great, this coffee maker is not one of them.

    Great coffee maker Review by

One poor feature. The opening where the water is poured is not wide enough. Spils are frequent.

Near perfect coffee maker Review by

This is my second SCAA certified coffee maker and I can safely say that it lives up to the certification. The coffee is every bit as delicious as what I get on my Bonavita. In fact, I'd say it brews coffee just a *tad* bit better than the Bonavita, especially with roast selection option on the Kitchenaid giving you the ability to lower brew temperature a touch for darker roasts. Fantastic coffee maker. The only thing holding it back from perfection, IMHO, is the existence of drip stop on the brew basket. A simple hole in the bottom of the brew basket would have been better for simplicity and longevity. Overall though, great machine!

    Best brew Review by

I am a big fan of pour over coffee. I also loved my tiny Kitchen Aid coffee maker. So when it was time to upgrade to a larger size, I was thrilled to find that Kitchen Aid makes a pour over brew coffee maker. I get all the quality of the Kitchen Aid brand with the control of pour over yet keep the ease of a brew machine. For those of you not familiar with pour over, it uses a cone filter and you hand pour the water. This allows you to control the temperature and the water pressure for maximum flavor that normal brewed coffee cannot offer. Kitchen Aid's machine releases the water in a similar circular motion that you would do by hand. I've been very pleased by the consistent quality of this machine.

A few kinks to work out Review by

Pros: It looks good enough, sounds good when brewing and I feel it has a small enough footprint though it is tall. The carafe is well balanced and doesn't drip coffee down the front like other Kitchenaid pour over makers. It's the perfect amount at 8 cup max, or simply add desired amount of freshly ground coffee with respective water level. It isn't like a pour over-basket style maker which really requires one to make a full pot. I feel that features are adequate for my needs as most of the digital options are pointless to someone who looks more at the hardware and design. Cons: I admit that I must buy a grind select coffee grinder to get the full potential with this machine as oppose to my spice style one. Problems here with the grinder I have are that it just doesn't taste as good as I thought it would. The burner could be improved for more heat before infusion of the grounds. The water level is actually hard follow as well.

It shows what the coffee pot is doing as well as ready to dr Review by

I already have recommended this to many. It gives a really good hot cup of coffee. Where the difference is is that it heats all your water at once, then pumps it in a shower like head. It gives off your Oder of fresh coffee , because it is. Not like most that heat water a little at a time and you lose all flavor, plus it isn't hot enough. I dislike Luke warm morning coffee. I love this pot. Get this one if you are picky about your brew!

Makes Exceptional cup of coffee for me . Review by

I have had this coffeemaker for a month now an it is wonderful . My coffee has more flavor now and it is plenty hot. I have used the same coffeemaker since the 90's and loved that thing. It is a KitchenAid 5 cup Model KCM055WH2. The perfect little coffee pot . Over the years I have bought new ones but always took them back because nothing could beat my little KitchenAid ! I have waited for years hoping KitchenAid would make another small coffeemaker but they never did. The only reason I got the new one is that my smaller one is white and over the years it has lost its sheen and looks yellowed. But it still works !! The 5 cup is perfect size and the pot is easy to clean and the tank is plenty big to fill without spills. I would love to see this pourover in that size, it would be perfect !!! I do have trouble seeing the fill indicator and have started pre measuring the water in a container that pours with spilling in the small opening of the tank . The price is more than my budget but I don't want any other name except KitchenAid because my little one has been the best, and I think this new one will be just as good !!! I certainly would recommend this coffeemaker to anyone.

Adequate. Only kept because it matches the look I want Review by

It does make a good cup of coffee, and it matches my red kitchenaid appliances that actually work. However for the price there are a couple of issues that are simply ridiculous: 1) the design of the carafe makes it a chore to pour the first couple of cups. Keep a towel handy, you *will* spill. Not always, but you will. 2) keep a second towel handy, as the design of the fill opening is very narrow and it is an exercise in steadiness and patience to fill the water resevoir. You *will* spill. And on the days when you are trying to rush out the door, you will spill pouring from the poorly designed carafe *and* spill from the poorly designed opening. 3) memorize the buttons. After a couple of months, the lettering will wear off. It is enough time to memorize how to set the timer for tomorrow morning's brew. But you will have difficulty remembering which buttons to press to do anything else. So, in review, buy this if you want a kitchenaid logo and/or to match the color of your other appliances. However, if you want to make a good cup of coffee easily, consistently, and cleanly, avoid this device.

Tripping GFCI - anyone else have this problem? Review by

I bought this about a year ago and have been enjoying delicious coffee. Unfortunately this morning the machine is not working. Each plug I try, the pour over brewer trips every GFCI outlet. Anyone else have this issue? I'm bummed because this is a relatively new machine.

Not up to Kitchen Aid Standards Review by

This is a rather expensive coffee maker and it would be worth it if it performed as advertised. I bought this because great coffee needs very hot water and this unit was advertised as having advanced heating technology that heats water to 198-204 degrees, but my unit has never heated to more than 182 Also, the letters on the buttons wear off quickly. I see that there is now a new version with the buttons gone so at least that issue has been addressed (too late for my 3 month old unit).

Easy to use and makes great coffee Review by

After researching coffee pots and superautomatics for more than a year, I discovered this pour over. I am pleased with how easy it is to use and the coffee is truly a pour over. This pot won the Golden Cup award and is approximately $200 less than the Technovorm and over $1,000 less than the superautomatics.

I can't wait until morning! Review by

I love fresh pour over coffee but my wife didn't like the wait or the mess. I was looking at another brand that was recommended by a friend, but through reviews I found the KitchenAid better because it has the hot plate and the glass pot seemed easier to care for (than a carafe). I purchased mine online for a great price from a major office supply store and we are loving it! It delivers a tasty cup of coffee with an impressive sound and elegant design. It's easy to clean and handles a full 8-cup pot very well. Some reviewers downgraded it because they said that it the coffee grounds spill over and are impossible to clean out. I don't get that. I have made several full pots and have no problems with mess. In fact the grounds and filter are held in a removable basket that rinses easily. Anyway, we love and it and I'm not kidding, we now look forward to the morning!

Bad quality, inconvenient functionality Review by

Within a day or two of receiving this coffee maker it started showing issues. It would refuse to brew a full pot of coffee. It would stop like half way through and all the lights would flash. I think the instructions said this indicated the coffee maker needed to run through the cleaning cycle, but I *just* got it, the tubes are already clogged? Anyway, I did the cleaning, but it kept happening. I had guests over that first weekend and I could never get a full pot of coffee out of it. It was so frustrating. I eventually dug out my old coffee maker (a cuisinart 10 cup grind and brew I've had for at least 10 years and which still works great) from the basement to make coffee for everyone. On top of all that, even if the coffee maker worked as advertised, it still only makes 8 cups which is way too small. And the hot plate only stays on for an hour which isn't configurable. My old coffee maker has a configurable temperature setting, and configurable shutoff time from 0 to 4 hours.

    INCONSISTENT--Beware Review by

I will start by saying it brews delicious coffee but takes longer than the usual coffee maker. However, the problem was that after a few weeks, it began to shut off prior to the one hour time period it is supposed to keep the coffee warm after brewing. It was very intermittent at first but today I watched it turn off immediately after brewing. I called KitchenAid and they are sending me a new one. Reading other reviews online, it seems I am not the first to have this problem. Poor quality control, apparently--perhaps manufactured outside the U.S.????

    Best home-brewed coffee Review by

For starters, this coffee maker makes the best coffee that's ever been brewed in my kitchen. I had not heard of the pour over method it tries to replicate, but it brings out the best flavors of the coffee creating a mellow but full taste at your desired strength. The first brew was interesting in that the water boils in the reservoir window prior to starting to drip. It might be because water boils at 202F instead of 212F like sea level, but it was unexpected. It does take a few minutes to get started, but as long as you're not staring at it, it gets to the point quickly enough. Brews up to 12 cups, but I'm usually good with a 6-cup brew on weekends and I haven't had company over to try larger pours. The options on the process are rather limited as you have a single button control. There are no settings to change the warming plate temp, duration of warmer (1 hr only) or size (some offer small-batch settings). Overall, I am not disappointed in the least in my purchase considering the quality of the coffee it produces. I wish it had a couple more options, but they would get rarely used, so I'm able to look past them and enjoy a hot cup of coffee on a Saturday morning.

Does the trick with some shortcomings Review by

I like this coffee maker but do have some reservations about it. The coffee is delicious. The design is sleek. I find the pour in section difficult to use without spilling. I agree with another reviewer that said the coffee is not more warm than hot when it's made. I wish the keep warm option was more than an hour long. You do need to use paper filters for it. All in all, I like it, but had expected it to be a bit more convenient and wowed by it.

    Needs Work Review by

I bought this a few days ago before I found it would not fit a reusable filter, only paper. Not easy to fill with water without spilling some in the channel around the filler and is hard to remove that. Brews a good cup of coffee. The clock was not simple to set it jumped back to 12.00 after setting several times, finally worked.

    Disappointed Review by

The coffe pot looks nice and I like the pour over concept. However, the coffee is not hot (lukewarm at best) and it has a funny taste.

    Amazing Coffee Review by

I did months of research on coffee maker's before purchasing this one. The coffee is outstanding. It's easy to use and is the only high quality brewer on the market with a timer. It looks beautiful in our kitchen.

As good as I had hoped Review by

Bought this thing for my wife as a Christmas gift. Brewed a pot with existing basket filter coffee maker next to this. Same amount of water, coffee, same cream, same sugar. If the existing coffee maker was a single note, this thing is a string section. Multiple additional flavors from THE SAME COFFEE. It was amazing and I'll not go back any time soon.

    Delivers as Advertised Review by

Finally a coffeemaker that brews outstanding coffee! Quality throughout the appliance. Highly recommended to anyone. Be aware it is an 8 cup carafe. One thing I would like to see is a flip up cover over the water fill, which itself is too small.
