    Very Disappointed Review by

Having used cheaper food processors over the last 30 years I decided to invest in what I would have considered a more superior and certainly a much more expensive model. Kitchenaid Artisan Processor. I am extremely disappointed in this processor. It is big, heavy and ridiculously difficult to even open and attach the lid...as for the attachments...crazy! If I could return this item I could. If I bought this processor at a similar price to previous ones I still would not be happy with it. I love cooking and I used my previous one several times a week. I would not recommend this model.

KitchenAid stands behind their products! Review by

I bought the Pro-line food processor when it first came out, as I really wanted its dicing capability. I have loved this capability and use it all the time. Recently, it stopped working. When I called KitchenAid, I was so happy to talk to a US based customer service rep who dealt with my problem in a very prompt and professional manner. After a brief (3 min) discussion on the problem, she quickly cleared me for a full replacement (even though I never registered my product and didn't know if it was/wasn't under warranty; even the shipping was covered). That type of commitment to quality and customer satisfaction is rare nowadays, and made me even more certain I will buy many more KA products in the future (although I have many already)!

Love with a touch of mold Review by

I love this machine, I used it daily, but every time I used it, small pieces of food got stuck inside the lid and the handle of the large bowl. I tried to get the food out in all ways I could think of, and gave up after the food residues started to grow white tendrils. It got really discusting after a couple of weeks. I've gotten the lid replaced by my local supplier for free last week. I decided to avoid processing any liquids in it to avoid getting food up into the lid. But after one single use I have the same problem all over again. This makes me very sad since I looove using this machine. How do I clean the lid and the handle of the large bowl? :(

Very Large / Good for Some things Review by

My husband (who loves to cook) bought this about 3 years ago. It has a phenomenal amount of power. Does everything in terms of chopping and blending, but it doesn't get 5 stars from me because it is so big I've no place to store it; and if you store it it is so big to take back out from the cabinet you could Julianne your carrots faster by hand. I keep it in the appliance garage, and i have to disassemble it to get it in there.

    poor accessories Review by

I bought this almost two 1/2 years ago. I have replaced the small blade twice due to breaking. They both broke while making dressing. Now the top feeder has broker where the handle attaches. I paid over 700 for this thinking it was commercial grade. The accessories, discs, blades are poorly made! All the plastic parts are poor! however, the motor, and sturdiness of it is excellent. But what good is it if it keeps breaking blades.

    Good product Review by

I got this product as an wedding anniversary gift over a year ago. Things that I really love are that it speeds up my cooking time:). For slicing and chopping, it is really good. On the other hand, for dicing and cleaning it is simply not. I have never been able to dice with it. All the veggies always get stuck and never go through. I have tried a couple of ties and fail to succeed. So I endup trying to clear the little dicing disc with the cleaner it comes with and it still does not remove anything, and I loose all the food trying on this attachment. Really bad. And the cleaning. Cleaning the slicing and chopping blades is rather easy. The difficult parts to clean are the dicing attachment and the lid. I dont use this food processor even on a weekly basis. Maybe once every two months or less, and the lid has becomed moldy between the inside parts. I still have not figured out how to clean that away. My husband does not even want a use it because of uncleanable mold or food particulates in the lead.

    Big disappointment Review by

We bought this food processor 3 weeks ago. During last three weeks, we used the machine quite occasionally for chopping veg for evening salads and soups. Today morning, I wanted to shred a celeriac, but after job was done I realized that the cutting blade got stuck on the power shaft and cannot be removed from it. I am afraid that the shaft, which is not made of any durable material but of very cheap plastic, is eventually being broken off and must be replaced. In addition, I have to note that all chopping blades and adapters seem quite vulnerable and fragile and cannot be compared to the blades I saw on some processors of other high-end producers. All in all, the product is a great disappointment to me, not up to the standards I would have expected from a manufacturer like the Kitchen Aid and, as against my experiences, I would dis-advise anyone from buying this processor. Now I do only hope that the company's local distributor is not gonna be obstructive and will either provide me with a full refund or replace the product as soon as possible.

    So disappointed Review by

I bought this robot three months ago, hoping and believing that I'm buying the best brand for food processors. I'm soooo disappointed and mad at myself for spending this amount of money on an appliance that is not reliable at all!!! after the first two weeks, the dicing disk stopped working and wans't turning anymore! after a month, the machine starts to get hot and stopped working! I sent it to the kitchenaid center in France and they fixed the problem in the engine (+I've never received the new dicing disk). And tonight, the cutting disk stopped working!!! I had never used the garantee of any of my appliances this much in a short amount of time....!!!

Great for many things, but not kneading bread dough Review by

I have had mine for 3 years. I use it weekly to slice or shred veggies, mix chopped meat salads, etc... I find that the multiple bowls work well for various quantities I need, and are convenient to hold components of the recipe until all is ready. I have not had any trouble with flying pieces of processed food. I have not had good luck using the dicing assembly. Soft foods like tomatoes turn to mush, and fibrous veggies like onions and celery tend to peel off layers that get stuck in the black plastic cover, so I don't use the dicing assembly often. I was however, most disappointed in my 2 attempts to knead bread dough. I followed the few instructions in the manual, but both times the dough quickly worked it's way inside the core of the dough blade, and down the motor shaft into the motor housing. I spent hours cleaning it with a toothbrush and multiple toothpicks, trying to get the dough out. Boy, was I dumb to try it a second time!!! Just recently, the thickness selection knob broke off. I called KA, and because of the 5 yr warranty, they sent me a new one (woohoo!). Given the innovative features haven't worked that well for me, I probably would have been just as well off with a simpler processor, but since it's still under warranty, I'll take the new one, thank you very much! I definitely will NOT knead bread dough in this one!

Happy at first, until both blades broke Review by

I loved this food processor. It was my first KitchenAid and I tend to, when I buy things, do a lot of research. I was impressed by it's BPA free plastics. Over the last couple of years, my partner and I used it maybe once or twice a month at the most. So nothing serious. Then the first smaller blade broke. Then the next bigger blade. They both broke the same way. After examining it closely, it's clear to see that the tiny bit of metal hook which extends into the plastic is very thin and not adequate for a food processor this powerful. I thought no big deal and I made contact with local KitchenAid representation (I'm in Estonia now) and asked for parts. They wanted €44 euro and €32 for each part, about $90usd including shipping. I don't mind paying for quality, but as a first time customer, I'm not going to be throwing further money at this thing. You guys should acknowledge that these blades are inadequate, have some sort of replacement program instead of trying to make further profits by over-charging for what are clearly cheap parts. There are things I could understand failing in a food processor over the years, the blades breaking while chopping up some carrots are not one of those things.

Could be much better Review by

I use this item several times a week to dice pounds of vegetables. It is such an improvement from doing it all by hand. But there are a few things that really bother me that I believe could be improved on. 1) The first is every time I place vegetables in the chute, I have to cover the chute with my hand otherwise I get many pieces of vegetables come flying out the chute and it dirties my cabinets and even ceiling. I believe the chute can be designed better to help this problem. I would try making the chute an angled slide. Like a water slide. So that when the vegetables hit the blades, it is not right under the opening of the chute and have bits and pieces pop out as they are diced. I know the company could provide a cover for the chute that can be used after the vegetables are placed in the chute but that would be so inconvenient to place and then remove each time I placed vegetables in the chute. I have been placing my hand over the chute and it works ok but still bits and pieces get through and pop out and make a mess. 2) Another annoyance is the since the chute is off to the edge of the bowl, the vegetables don't spread out evenly in the bowl. After a while many of the vegetables are mostly piles up under the chute and a lot of the bowl goes unused. If I keep trying to dice vegetables even though there is space left in the bowl, the machine will choke. I think that placing the chute in the middle of the bowl would make the vegetables spread out through the entire bowl and I could use all the space in the bowl. 3) Occasionally a piece of vegetables gets stuck between the dicing blade and the circular blade and the machine comes to a stop. This is very annoying since then I have to take off the cover, disassemble the dicing kit so I can clean it out and then reassemble everything and continue to use it. I'm not sure how this can be improved on but it very annoying when it happens.

    Awesome machine Review by

This is a beast of a food processor! It is very large and did not fit on the counter under my standard cabinets, but it fits under the cabinets over my nook area. The attachments also come in a huge storage box. The candy apple color is gorgeous and looks beautiful on my counter. I am very pleased with the performance of this machine. It dices potatoes like a champ, in seconds. You just drop them in the shoot and bam, they are diced! It is very sturdy. The performance gets 5 stars. I'm giving 4 stars because mine did not come with 2 discs and trying to find them to purchase has been difficult. As pricey as this machine is, it should have came with all attachments.

    Very disappointing Review by

I am very disappointed in the performance of this food processor. Maybe it's effective for slicing since I haven't tried that, but the basic operation and effectiveness of the regular blade is poor. I thought having two sizes of bowls would be great, but you have to use the smaller bowl inside the larger one, so you end up dirtying both. It's also very big and bulky and thus doesn't fit on my counter (and I have a relatively large kitchen). Having to change all the parts depending on the function being used is annoying also.

    I am dissapointed Review by

I thought that if I bought a Kitchen Aid, I would have it for many years. The mashine seems strong, but after half a year the knives to the little bowl broke off. And today the large knives brooke off too. Both times I have been using it for normal ingrediens´ like nuts...I Asked the shop where I bought it, if they could send me some new knives if I send them de broken ones, but I have to send the whole mashine by post, and I was told that I could not be sure of, they would fix it. If not, then I would have to pay for their checking off the mashine :((

    adequate Review by

Powerful machine and very stable. Has no trouble with stiff bread dough or slicing carrots. Did a nice job when chopping sticky apricots. Would recommend an educational/demonstration video since the slicing disc is complicated - it is a serious machine and warrants a more serious owners booklet. A few recipes would be appreciated by cooks getting used to the machine.

Can't do without it! Review by

My husband insisted that he wanted to buy the 16 cup food processor for me for Christmas. I keep telling him that I did okay chopping by hand and the cost of the Kitchenaid processor was too much. After my first use I found I was using it almost on a daily basis and now I can't get along without it. Slicing, dicing, chopping it's so easy to use and I find it easy to clean. It slices through butternut squash like it was butter. It fits nicely on my kitchen counter under the cabinet without the cover which I store with the accessories in another cabinet. The candy apple red retro look along with my kitchenaid mixer is striking. I did manage to break the dicing blade and cover but called customer service at Kitchenaid and they replaced it within a few days with no hazzle. Just love my kitchenaid appliances.

    Slice & Dice Review by

Rating should be 4.5. Uniform dicing is terrific. Having firm product is the key but I do note that food get trapped to a greater degree than prior processors. The ability to change thickness is terrific. Dough blade could use improvement. Overall, happy with this purchase but don't believe it to have the value relative to the price. Price should include an additional blades such as Julienne Disc, Parmesan/Ice Shaving Disc, French Fry Disc or Citrus Juicer.

    Wonderful machine! Review by

The food processor can so so much, I particularly like the dice feature. It takes a lot of time to learn the machine and I would encourage Kitchen Aid to provide more in-depth instructional videos. I would strongly recommend the kitchen aid over all other food processors.

I love this Food Processor ! Review by

I bought this late February of this year.. We were going to get the mixer, but after comparing the two, figured the food processor was more what we were looking for.. I just love this machine.. It is sturdy, looks great on the counter, and so far has easily done anything I have asked of it.. Shredding carrots for muffins, shredding cheese for pizza.. lettuce for salad.. Made cookies.. potatoes into french fries.. It is very easy to use.. Comes with all the accessories you will need to do about any job.. The tools are all in an awesome container so that they are all together and store away easily. I couldn't be happier.. Course have only had it a couple of months.. but everything I have done with it, sure made things a lot easier.. I also love that it has a 5 year warranty. Hope to never need to use it, but it is there if I do have problems. I would recommend this to anyone who eats.. Everyone can find something that they would use this food processor for, that would make their life a little easier.. save time etc.

    Working Away Review by

This was given to me as a gift for Christmas. This is an impressive maching with lots of power and many features. I bought the juicing feature and juiced my oranges in no time flat. I teased everyone that I could have juiced my own hands with this machine. I also bought the ice shredding feature which works great for snow cones. The dicing feature is new to me and the first time I used it I think I did something wrong as part of the mechanism inside had started to melt from the friction. I called Kitchenaid and they offered new machine (incredible customer service) but I told them I only needed a replacement part. I have since used the new dicer sent to me and have had success with onions. I tried dicing an apple but I think it was too soft (or I wasn't sure how to use it properly). The food blades are very nice as well. I haven't tried slicing different thickness of vegetables yet but I plan to. The machine is large and heavy so I leave it on my countertop. I have a small kitchen so it does take up space but I am happy to leave it out so that I can use it. I haven't found the prep bowl helpful but I am still trying to figure out all that this machine can do. I'm pleased overall.

This is a beautiful machine with huge potential and some ser Review by

Thought this was going to be an amazing food processor with all the bells and whistles; plus lots of extras. We found it had some serious flaws, however. We actually found this one advertised in a specialty catalog around Christmas. This processor had amazing accessories; including dicing features that seemed to have the final WOW factor that helped me decide on purchasing this product. So many cool features....But here's the dicey part. Kitchen aid needs to work out the bugs big time. This product would be so worth it if they did. After reading other reviews, we found our problems & complaints were being experienced by others as well. Some of our issues with this product are: The dicing attachment seriously catches and traps nearly 1/4 of the veggies being chopped and to remove them is an enormously hard task! The leverage to open the dicing attachment once it is jammed, which happens often, is to the point that my husband's strength is needed to open it most of the time. This was a huge issue as he was working out of state the first few times I operated it and I try not use it unless he is home. Also an unfortunate surprise.... you pay lots for this product and guess what? There are two attachments that don't come with it and you cannot purchase them either. Only available on select models... This is the only model available. The julienne attachment and the lemon squeezer (pardon my error in terminology on that one) are not included. Would love to say this was worth the investment. If these issues were remedied it would have been. Thanks for the opportunity to comment on this product because if these issues were remedied; it would be a home run indeed.

    Powerful Review by

The product is awesome for processing large quantities. The only drawback is the residue that overflows into the outer bowl and the food that gets caught in above the dicing disc. It would have been nice if the set had included the julienne blade and ice blade.

This food processor is a beast, in a good way! So powerful, so efficient, and it holds so MUCH! I no longer have to make recipes in two or three batches. I love all the attachments--they make most of my other counter top appliances unnecessary.

Great Value For The Money Review by

This is expensive, but well worth the money. You never get what you do not pay for, so you should not expect stellar performance from a bargain. This machine delivers all the performance claimed by KitchenAid. The power and size of this machine is unbeatable at any price. It is the best value for the money.

    Excellent food processer Review by

Excellent food processor. I use it practically every day however there were a couple of attachments whip, Julian cutter and ice crusher that were not included for the high cost of the unit. I would like to purchase these however they do not seem to be available, And I cannot find any information as to when they might be available. I love the dicing attachment makes the task so much easier but I still want the additional attachments.

what a work horse! Review by

big & beautiful... unfortunately this food processor does not fit under my kitchen cabinets but other then that, she's a work horse. replaced my 12 cup kitchenaid with this one. there is a learning curve to use the dicer but everything else is very user friendly.

    Time Saver Review by

I like the machine. The dicing is good especially the time saving aspect. However the time saved dicing is now spent on the clean up. A lot of food does not go through the dice grid. It stays above the grid and under the cutting blade. Perhaps a tighter fit design might correct the issue. It should be sent free to customers who bought the machine as a free upgrade.

Quiet luxury, at a high price. Review by

I am loving my new KitchenAid food processor. It is whisper quiet, and performs its tasks well. It is a bit cumbersome to set up for various tasks, but not overly so. I would have really appreciated having all of the attachments included in the very precious price. As it is, I doubt that I will lay out yet more cash for the julienne blade and the other grating disk. The machine also has quite a large footprint, and the attachment case is huge. Not for those with limited counter top and storage space.

I bought it for the dicing capability. I love my KitchenAid Review by

I was not initially looking for another food processor and especially a 600 dollar one. I do a lot of canning and making homemade salsa in the summer. Its ideal to not have to stand there and dice all that stuff. Cleaning is easy too.

KitchenAid® Pro Line® Series = Sous Chef Review by

Previously: the endless hours I spent slicing and dicing onions alone! :( Now: the new addition to my kitchen is going to expedite all of my prep work allowing me to focus on exploring new culinary territory. Hello, 50 Great Curries of India! Today my foodprocessor allowed me to make whip up a gallon of salsa fresca, two lovely loves of chocolate banana bread, and slice enough potatoes for a hearty Au Gratin effortlessly. This all in the first use! Also, thank you for making the entire unit BPA free, I am eating all organic/pastured food and wouldn't have purchased it if not BPA free. I do hope all of the extra attachments (egg wisk, julienne blade, etc. ) for the 16 cup Pro line become available soon! i don't mind paying extra for them - I just would like to be able to order them asap.

Great Processor but expensive Review by

I recently purchased this from Williams Sonoma and was also surprised to find that many of the attachments that were shown on their website are not included-such as the ice shredder, egg whip and french fry slicer. For $600 I would expect these to be included as is pictured on the website. I will be returning mine-

Extra attachments not available but shown on video Review by

Received my KitchenAid ProLine Food Processor yesterday. My review is not on how it works, but what is not included, after paying $600!! After taking everything out of the box, I opened up the container with all the extra attachments. I purchased this unit, because the video on the Williams Sonoma showing everything it included. A julienne slicer, an ice shredder, a french fry slicer and and egg whipper. Guess what? None of them were in the box. I went back on the WS website and nowhere can you even buy these extra attachments. Why show them in a video if you can't purchase them? I felt after spending $600 on a food processor, these attachments were at least included. I have contacted Williams Sonoma and I am now awaiting an answer. Hope they come up with a solution. If I have to pay extra for the attachments that were shown in a video and it did not say they were extra, I will be returning this machine, which I am not happy about. Just don't think its a fair situation here.

The possibilities are endless! Review by

Just received the pro line processor last week and have used it every day! I have diced onions and peppers for sauces and the process went well. I then made pasta dough, coleslaw and shred zucchini for bread. The processor is substantial and does not move when in use. When you use the attachment to dice, clean up does take a few minutes more because there are nooks and crannies to clean. I would like to purchase the Parmesan shredding and egg whisker but don't see them available yet. The only down side and it is a big one is that this is not made in the USA.
