Serrated Bread Knife (8") from the Wusthof IKON Series: Slices through Bread Loaves and Cakes without Crushing

The Wusthof IKON 8" bread knife is made from a special steel alloy for a low-maintenance blade that is strong, flexible, and extremely sharp. This non-electric bread knife has a long serrated edge to gently saw through fresh bread without breaking or crushing it. At just under 8 inches in length, the Wusthof 4966 is long enough to slice through entire loaves and baguettes widthwise. This knife is also handy for cutting tender cakes down to size without leaving a crumby mess.

Each knife in the Wustof IKON cutlery line starts out as a single piece of carbon steel which is forged into a full-tang knife with a balanced weight and ergonomic feel. The blade is tempered and sharpened many times before the tang is inset with a handle of pure, choice African blackwood. This exotic hardwood is, according to Wusthof, technically and aesthetically superior to ebony wood in every way, providing a comfortable feel in the hand that won't vary with humidity levels and temperature.

    Love the Feel! Review by

Love the feel of the knife. Blade is razor sharp. But it is a knife edge is also delicate--meaning I would not use it in situations that required heavy pressure, which is how I finely chop my veggies or mince meat, but more as a slicing knife. (Posted on 4/25/16)
