Super good coffee maker! Review by

Well, I just used this maker and it makes super hot coffee! My old Mr. Coffee was a dud, tepid coffee at best. I ordered a Bonavita and returned it, not that much better than Mr. C.
Found the Zutto. I knew nothing of the brand, read reviews & checked it out. Fast shipping and a pretty good price. It's a well designed and sturdy machine. There are things to get used to about it, but bottom line: Super hot coffee, Horray! I can make 2 1/2 mugs no problem. So glad I took a chance on the Zutto. Buy one, you won't be disappointed. AWESOME Review by

I spent a lot of time online looking for a 4 to 5 cup coffeemaker to suit my needs. There are the usual suspects: Mr. Coffee, Braun, etc, that seem to get universally bad to mediocre reviews from people, especially people who know anything about coffee. I decided to skip all of those and look for something that would make a really good cup of coffee.

My choices became limited to two coffeemakers: one made by a company called Bodum (which looks like some kind of laboratory beaker) and the Zojirushi Zutto. The Bodum model supposedly performed well and made excellent coffee under ideal conditions, but many people who reviewed it said that it was prone to mishaps such as overboiling. So I went with the Zojirushi. I was not disappointed.

The Zutto is extremely well-designed and functional. The coffee filter is in the lid of the pot (not attached to the maker, like most autodrip models), and there is a removable charcoal water filter to remove chlorine, etc. It's very easy to clean, attractive and perfect for a small space. After running water through it a few times to remove the burned-plastic taste you would get from any new coffeemaker, I brewed up a pot of Green Mountain. The coffee was excellent, the best I've ever had from an automatic drip maker. After the pot was left on the burner for 10 minutes, the coffee still tasted good, with only a very slight hint of a burned taste. I'm assuming this means that the heating element is set to the correct temperature for keeping the coffee warm.

There were no problems with pouring; you just have to place your thumb over part of the lid when you pour. The Zojirushi Zutto is a well thought-out and sturdy product, far better than anything comparable from any American company. (Posted on 6/1/16)

    I Like It! Review by

Was looking for a smallish, non-computerized coffee maker, preferably around eight cups. Good luck! Decided to give this fiver a try. Essentially, it's an automated "Chemex" -- that glass cone drip pot where you just pour hot water over the grounds. Can't pour before it's done, but I'm getting used to that. Good coffee. Nice design. Easy to clean. And you can overfill the water tank a bit to squeeze out another half cup. Bottom line: People who like this sort of thing will find it the sort of thing they like. Love this Zojirushi coffee maker! Review by

You can't go wrong with this coffee maker. Ease of use, attractive, compact and best of all, it makes a fantastic cup of coffee! (I was also very happy with the service from Everything Kitchens. Super fast shipping ! Thank you!) (Posted on 8/30/11)

Great drip coffee maker Review by

I really like this new coffee maker. Smaller versions of the coffee makers are very hard to find. The style looks great on the counter top, the cone shape of the drip basket provides excellent coffee (BTW: instruction book does not give the size of the cone filter but FYI it is the #2 size), and the glass carafe is easy to clean. It may be a little pricey but if it last me more than two years, I will be happy about the price. The lid that covers the top (water bucket) does not stay on or the lid to the carafe but other than getting used to those little features, I love it and would highly recommend it. Zojirushi coffeemaker Ec-Dac50 Review by

Great coffee, smooth taste. Easy clean-up. Long cord. Good looks. This seems to be a good-quality, no frills coffeemaker. My one suggestion for improvement. Make the fill lines on the water reservoir darker so they can be seen as the water is going into it. I find that I partially fill it, then hold it up to eye level, to check, etc. Regardless, I am still pleased to have it. (Posted on 12/8/10)

    mr L. Smith Review by

Excellent coffee flavor, 2nd cup needs reheating, no hinge top on carafe, but easy to handle, easy cleanup , actually makes about three 8 oz. cups , takes up small space. Wish had red color , but nice appearance. (Posted on 1/7/10)

Best coffee maker ever!!! Review by
