The stainless steel chambers are easy to keep clean and house up to four ceramic filters for maximum filtration. The first stage of filtration takes place in the outer shell of the candle-style filter where bacteria, cysts, and particles are removed. Stage 2 is an anti-microbial formulation that prevents microbial growth within the ceramic. Activated carbon provides the third level of filtration by removing chlorine and other organic materials that affect the taste and smell of the water. Lastly, heavy metal reduction media works to remove heavy metals such as lead, from the final filtered water product. Requiring no plumbing, water is poured into the top chamber where it is drawn by gravity through the ceramic filters before collecting in the lower chamber. A simple tap dispenses the filtered water for drinking or cooking use.
