How to Make Smoothies in Blendtec Blender

Making a smoothie is an art, but it doesn't have to be intimidating. Here are a few tips from Chef Austin for making easy-blending, lump-free smoothies in your Blendtec blender.

Chef Austin's Tips for Making Smoothies:

  • Memorize proper layering from bottom to top: Liquids, Fresh Solids, Frozen Solids. Load the blender jar with liquids on the bottom, to help the blade move around and pull other ingredients back to the blade.
  • Use enough liquid. If your Blendtec isn't blending, chances are you don't have enough liquid in the bottom to move the other ingredients.
  • Use enough ingredients. It takes the appropriate amount of ingredients for the size of the jar for the ingredients to adequately move around; otherwise, they won't blend. If you want smaller, single-serve smoothies, consider also getting the WildSide Mini or Twister Jar. With the smaller jar, you'll get better-blended small smoothies.
