    • Can I cook in the 25 or 30 qt pressure cooker or is it made for canning only?
    • Yes, you can cook in this too, either as a regular pressure cooker with the lid, or as a stock pot, without the lid. It is just most commonly used for canning, due to the size. For more details, feel free to review the manual at http://www.everythingkitchens.com/PDFfiles/930.pdf.

    • what is the life of the pressure plug???
    • Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry suggests changing the pressure plug every other year dependent on usage. If the plug is brittle when removed, you know to replace it. If the plug is soft when removed, it is still usable.

I bought my All American Canner back in 1991. Have used it many times and love it. But I believe this will be my last year to use it. I'm 77 years old now and everything is so much harder for me. I guess I'll give mine to one of my kids. (Posted on 12/15/11)
