        Item #: KSM1APC

I know one has 2 more blades but is it worth it?
      • A:  Hello Andrea!

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding the KitchenAid Spiralizer Attachment (Fits all Stand Mixers).

The KitchenAid Spiralizer Attachment (Fits all Stand Mixers) Item # KSM2APC, does have 2 more blades than the KSM1APC.
The two extra blades are the Thin Slicing Blade, and the Extra-fine Spiralizing Blade.

In my opinion it would be worth having the two extra blades, if you're wanting thinner slices, and fine spirals.
It would be on how you would use the Spiralizier to determine if you truly need those 2 extra blades.

I hope this answers your question Andrea!

Hope you have a wonderful day!

        Thank you,

        Everything Kitchens

KitchenAid Spiralizer plus with peeler Review by

I have not had the chance to use it yet. I brought it to peel my pear-apples so I could make Apple-Pear curry. Which is very good. It is for fish, pork & bison.

Amazing! Perfect noodles every time! Review by

I had a stand spiralizer previously - one that suction cups to the counter & has a hand crank. The small blade attachment never wirked, and softer veggies like eggplant were made into mush. I received the KitchenAid spiralizer attachment as a gift. IT IS AMAZING! Makes PERFECT angelhair noodles every time! Spiralizes EVERYTHING - eggplant, zucchini, butternut squash, cucumber, you name it! And is WAY easier to clean! Love love love it!!!

    Pretty nifty tool Review by

I got this as a Christmas gift. I love the versatility of it all. It doesn't accommodate large vegetables such as fat sweet potatoes, so you have to half or quarter them. I do have to say that the customer service I received when calling about a question was ridiculously unhelpful. Both people had no clue how to troubleshoot my issue. I figured it out by myself.

    Learning Curve Review by

My stand mixer is 45 years old and still going like a champ. I started out with a plastic spiralizer and when I saw that Kitchen Aid made one I jumped at the chance. I keep it attached to my mixer at all times and it does look like a war machine sticking out of the front. I used it every day. At first things were getting stuck etc. You have to use firm veggies and fruits. I keep my attachment in an old timey glass refrigerator container with top along with a tooth brush. Easy to store and clean that way. I confess I have not pealed anything yet too busy spiralizing zucchini. I probably have spiralized a ton of zucchini since getting the machine. I am not impressed with the prong thing that sticks into one end of the veggie. It is plastic and I don't know how long it is going to last so I am careful with it.

does not perform for me Review by

the vegetables need to be uniform for the peeler to work. You cannot slice without coring. A sweet potato is too hard to spiralize properly. The small spiralizer blade works well with squash but does not peel too well. I am so disappointed. I love all of my other Kitchen aid attachments and my mixer. Maybe there is a trick to it.

    Makes prep easy! Review by

I love this spiralizer so much! Now that your company has graciously sent me a replacement peeling blade (THANK YOU!), this makes peeling lots of potatoes and apples a breeze. My veggie lasagna is even more of a hit now that I can add layers of zucchini ribbons. Thanks for a great product, KitchenAid! I can always count on you and on your excellent customer service!

    HUGE Disappointment!!!! Review by

I rarely fall for these types of kitchen gadgets, but really liked the idea of creating vegetable noodles and thought this might be a worthwhile mixer attachment. First, the device is much larger than I anticipated and the recommended storage box is quite large. Not sure where I'm storing this. Second, started out with a butternut squash. Read all directions and watched videos beforehand. The size of my squash met the requirements. The peeler kept getting stuck, so I removed it and peeled by hand. Tried spiralizer, and it too kept getting stuck and the skewer would not hold and continued to rotate inside the squash creating a mushy hole in the center. This made it even more difficult for the device to work properly. Lastly, a rather large portion of vegetable gets left on the skewer and does not go through the spiralizer. Very poor design. I will try other vegetables before giving up on this rather expensive attachment, but will definitely think twice the next time.

Love it, but....all things have there limits Review by

GOOD: Despite what I wrote below, I love this product. Just wish it was a bit more versatile. EXCELLENT: Makes fast work of most vegetables/fruit. 3 Zucchinis or Apples in under 1 minute EXCELLENT: Peels, cores, cuts simultaneously. GOOD: Quick set up/break down. GOOD: Helpful storage package/container. LIMITATIONS: Size dimensions. Vegetables/Fruit with limited diameter and length. Reason it's BAD: Limits you to using medium sized everything. You can cut big things down, but not up). LIMITATIONS: Carrots (width, Large veggies and fruit). LIMITATIONS: Set blade opening width. Not publish. Thin means what? 1 mm? Median? BAD: Vegetable Skewer: Pins that hold the vegetable/fruit in place. One metal central spike surrounded by short plastic pins. Using hard vegetables (potatoes): Skewer spins around so pins create ski lanes. WORSE: The machine has no leverage to turn the vegetable (like spinning tires in sand), but the spiralizer continues to advance along it's track - nearly bending it backward and becoming deformed if not turned off immediately. I've had to turn it off several times, take the potato off, and head for my table top spiralizers which did the job quickly without a similar issue. INDIFFERENT: Cleanup. Not as quick as the table top versions I have. Table top version have big blade plates. You can wipe them down quickly or throw them in the top of the dishwasher. The little blades of the KitchenAid have to be put on the prongs in the top rack of the dishwasher to make sure they don't fall down to the bottom. Washing by hand is problematic because the blade plates are small making it easy to cut your hands. WISHES: Would like KitchenAid to publish the dimensions of the blade width, length, etc. When comparing different devices with fixed blade dimensions, it helps to know what dimensions each blade is. Really thin potato chips/radish cuts or thick apple cuts. WISHES: Make the vegetable/fruit skewer system better. Photo later if possible.

    Disappointed Review by

Works great on zucchini. But everything else has been a disaster. Leaves me wishing I bought a cheaper handheld one that can handle a sweet potato etc. I had higher hopes for something branded KitchenAid I have a professional 5 plus with many other attachments. (Ice cream, pasta, grinder, shredder, etc) this is by far the most disappointing.

not impressed with product Review by

I bought this product last week and I am really disappointed in how it works and the information provided in the manual. I used the spiralizer to peel apples, the product left about 20% of the skin of the apple on the apple so I had to use a knife to finish the job. Not only did it do a poor job of peeling but is was almost impossible to disassemble. Reading the manual did not help and when I called KitchenAid Susan was very helpful and agreed the manual did not explain how to disassemble the peeler. I finally pulled had enough to release the peeler. It should not be that difficult to use.

    A bit disappointed Review by

I haven't used it a ton, but I am a bit disappointed in the peeling function. It is going to be great with a nice, smooth fruit or veggie. Uneven potatoes, not so much. Hopeful for the coring/slicing, but I'll been peeling before I use he spiralizer

I had more fun spiralizing zucchini & yellow squash, with this attachment!!! I had a Spirolie that lasted to 2 uses & broke. There is a slight learning curve, but with a very little practice, it works beautifully!! I was so happy that this worked, I forgot to put the seasoning in my chicken stir-fry,.

My favorite gift until it broke! Review by

LOVED this!! By far my favorite Christmas gift. I used it 2-3 times, then the pin that holds the food in place snapped out of it's plastic housing while spiralizing a potato! I don't understand why a part that is so crucial to the operation of the spiralizer is made of plastic. The spiralizer is not operational if you have no way to secure the food in place. I am SO disappointed!

not easy to use Review by

This was a gift I asked for the Holidays. I have had mixed luck with the Spiralizer randomly achieving good results or wasting plenty of zucchini and beets. I am going to try and experiment more but at the moment ,if I could go back ,I would not ask to receive this as a present .

    peeler Review by

My wife received this as a Christmas gift from our son. It is very nicely boxed and seems to be a great product. But the peeler blade is one of the most important parts and the spring that should hold it in Does Not! First time my wife tried to use it the little spring would not hold peeler. Unable to use.

Spiralizer works great, peeler could be better Review by

Gift from my daughter; all the attachments work well, would be nice if I didn't have to go to a webpage to watch video to learn how to use it. That said, the videos were very good. Only issue I have is the peeler doesn't seem to work with the smaller diameter veggies. Not a 'must have' attachment, but it is nice to have.

    Wonderful on apples Review by

I only used twice the apple slicer and peeler. I made two apple pies (on different days). It literately peeled, cored, and sliced (thinly and evenly) one apple in seconds. Yes, it peels deeper than I would normally peel but it's worthwhile! You just need to carefully line up the top and bottom of the apple. Most of the time fruits are not grown symmetrical so the core would be cored lopsided. It's not the fault of this attachment and I can certainly understand that. I can't wait to use the spiralizers on other vegetables.

Excellent Attachment w/Some Issues Review by

Purchased this attachment as a replacement for an original Spiralizer (manual crank), which was made primarily of plastic, and was insufficiently robust to handle anything harder than a zucchini squash. Also intend for the attachment to replace hand-crank apple peeler/slicer. Very happy with the peeler/slicer function of the attachment, and mostly happy with the spiralizer portion. I have 2 complaints: 1. The attachment is insufficiently long to allow processing of full-length squash, so I have to cut each vegetable in half. This would a minor problem, except it is exacerbated by my second complaint. 2. The spiralizing function of the attachment stops with over an inch of the vegetable unprocessed. When combined with my first complaint, this problem results in a loss of nearly 3 inches of each vegetable processed.

    Great product! Review by

Have only used once, but I think I will use it a lot. Seems sturdy and built to last. Only complaint so far is the peeler. It only works on foods that are fairly big around, like apples and large potatoes. Will not work on small potatoes, carrots, etc., so they still have to be peeled by hand.

    Apples are a-peeling Review by

After watching the videos, apples were peeled, cored, and sliced to make apple sauce and apple butter. I discovered that the fruit must be firm, some had softened and would not work with the attachment. It truly made the job go much faster than doing everything by hand. I cannot wait to use some of the spiralizing blades for salads. Assembly was easy as was disassembly and clean-up. The box is so sturdy it serves very nicely as a storage case.

    Love it! Review by

I love my spiralizer and apple peeler/corer. I read the instructions (which are pretty succinct), attached the accessory and began to use it in less than 5 min. It was so easy. I cored, peeled and sliced 8 apples in less than 7 minutes. I have never been able to get my Apple pies in the oven so quick. I think the quality of the attachment parts are pretty good, but I do baby them. I'm not rough on equipment like some can be. I have used the peeler/corer/slicer over 10 times now and no sign of wear and tear on anything. I'm so glad I made this purchase. Everything came packaged neatly and organized in a box that you will use over and over again. The case organizes and protects all the parts so they will be ready when you next need them. Instructions are stored in a pocket on the underside of the lid for ease of use.

    Apples, Apples, Apples Review by

When you are gifted 2 1/2 bushels of apples, you need to get busy and get them peeled. If all I used this for was peeling I would have been thrilled. Of course, besides the peeling, I added coring and slicing. The house smelled terrific, pie shells were filled and frozen, the waste was used for making apple cider vinegar. Now I can't wait to try spiralizing. Thank you for helping me knock out the apples without any cuts on my hands. The only negative that I may have is that the slicing is thin for pies, so I did do about a bushel of just peeled, and cut those by hand. Otherwise I love the Sprializer Plus with Peel, Core and Slice.

Hoping it continues to work ok Review by

I have had the spiralizer for 2 months and have used it all the time and love it! However, this week I used it to peel and Slice apples for making applesauce and it stopped working after about 10 apples. The main attachment that holds the peeler and slicing blade stopped moving along the 'track' thus just peeling the apple in the same spot, not advancing down the fruit. I called Kitchen Aid and they are sending me a replacement, which I am happy about; however I am hoping this was just a fluke and does not happen again.I do a lot of cooking so am hoping the kitchen aid spiralizer is meant for peeling/slicing a lot of fruits/veggies at once as this was when I ran into the problem.

Just buy a spiralizer attachment and found out that the blade on the peeler attachment is on the wrong side, so it does not peel, and now just got a email saying that it will take a considerable amount of time before I received the correct part, a factory mistake, and Kitchen aid is not pulling the spiralizer off the shelfs, therefor long waiting time to get the right part.

I purchased this spiralizer a couple weeks ago. It is built very well and does a fast and exceptional job. I have gone to eating more low carb and make zucchini noodles and it does a fantastic job and shortens up my time cooking.

    Fun tool Review by

How attractive and fun this spiralizer is. We've successfully used it to make a raw beet and apple salad--something I wouldn't have tried even with a sharp knife. The Kitchenaid blades and holder are high quality. I look forward to trying many recipes to add variety to our vegetarian diet.
